A New Generation For LadyBen.com

LadyBen.com has been around since 1998 and in the Spring of 2006 was purchased by Scott & Jennifer Gingrich.

Jennifer is 6th generation in the boating business, having spent her early years growing up on Dawson's Marina on Lake Simcoe, the family marina that has, among others, sold Trojans and Shepherds.

Jen's Dad, Doug Dawson, has sold many of the boats that are today being sold as classic wooden boats.

Most of the front-end work of LadyBen including promotion and sales is handled by Jennifer.

Looking after the LadyBen.com website and helping with marketing systems is Jen's husband Scott.

Unlike Jennifer's history of growing up in the boating business, Scott grew up in fishing boats! All during Scott's growing up, he and his Dad would fish together on the picturesque lakes in Northern Ontario.

Jen & Scott live on Lake Simcoe (the same lake the Dawsons' Marina used to service) in Barrie, Ontario with their 3 children.

Located just East of Georgian Bay and South of the Muskoka's—a region renowned for its Classic Wooden Boats and hailed as being beautiful cottage country—Barrie gives Jen & Scott lots of access to boating and the classic wooden boats that help make our cottage lakes and bays so beautiful.

What Does LadyBen.com Provide?

LadyBen.com is a international web-based service dedicated to connecting classic wooden boat sellers with buyers. We provide the following free services.

Listing Service to Sell A Boat

LadyBen.com provides you with an free electronic medium in which to sell your vessel to a global community. The service works like any print classified medium.  The difference is: we provide you with an ample amount of space for text and images in which to conveniently present the boat for sale to its full capacity. Searchable Listings of Boats For Sale

LadyBen.com provides you with a repository of vessels for sale which you may browse at your leisure.  You will find that our listings are capable of providing extremely comprehensive vessel information as well as plenty of images.  We have found that allowing sellers to provide a considerable amount of information saves you - the buyer- a substantial amount of time and energy upon choosing the right vessel. The Touching Story Of How LadyBen.com Got Its Name

The name "LadyBen.com" may seem a bit odd for this site but "Lady Ben" was truly the most avid sea dog imaginable. The original owners of LadyBen.com rescued her when she was 3/4 dead as a wee puppy, just south of Atlantic City on one of their runs back from down south. Within weeks of regaining her strength, she was climbing the flybridge ladder and enthusiastically participating in all deck hand activities.

Lady Ben quickly gained 2nd mate status and proudly sailed under the "SandDollar" flag for over 50,000 nautical miles. As an Australian Blue Heeler (more or less) her Aussie blood gave her a sense of adventure and love of travel. After sailing on the west coast of Canada in 1994-95 she semi-retired east, to consult on the LadyBen.com web site and enjoy life as a land lubber. She has since passed on, but we're sure she still sniffs the wind, lets us know the weather and when the sun is over the yardarm. We still hear her thoughts..."Cast off the lines, a new adventure awaits".
