48' Chris Craft Double Cabin Flybridge, 1949 |
This boat was well taken care of up until 5 years ago. The owner has Raynauds disease and cannot operate sanding equipment. This boat made a great live aboard due to size and amenities. The bottom is glass over wood with screws. Sides are epoxy filled cracks and coated. Cabin is glass over wood with epoxy. This boat is not a boat to hop in and go. She needs bottom work on the port shaft log. Engines do run. If work is done by local yard, I will help with epoxy repairs on the shaft log. This boat is under 5 years of neglect. The good news, the rot was removed when I removed the side cabin planks and replaced with new mahogany. The glass over wood bottom has well preserved the hull. Boat has been under a boathouse since I owned it, 18 years. Full details on this 48' Chris Craft, 1949 |
24' Buehler Bar Harbour, 1966 |
You won't see another of these on your lake. Designed by Virgil Exner, famous for his automotive designs for Chrysler Corporation in the 60's and his boat designs for Riva of Italy and Buehler Turbocraft, pioneers in jet powered boats. ( see http://www.madle.org/exnrjr.htm ). This "Bar Harbour" model bears a striking resemblence to Mr Exners design of the 1966 Dodge Charger muscle cars. She is fiberglass and wood and is powered by an original Chrysler Marine 426 cu. in. wedge V8 engine, coupled to a Hamilton 3 stage turbine jet pump. Originally built by Buehler Turbocraft Corporation, of Indianapolis, Indiana, this was their largest model and only seven were ever built.Only three have been found; one in Britain, the US and Canada. This boat was originally imported into Canada for EXPO 67. Rumble has undergone a complete "bottom up" restoration to original show condition. This is a real showboat and head turning fun boat on the water. There is no other sound like a Buehler jet. It comes with a custom built tandem axle trailer as well. Full details on this 24' Buehler Bar Harbour, 1966 |

10' Island Hermit Rowboat, 2009 |
This new ten footer, designed by Stephen Redmond and built by Island Hermit LLC, as an ultra-light row-boat with 4mm. okoume marine (B.S.1088) plywood hull, the bottom is 6mm. keruing covered in glass and painted “Midnight Blue.” She has cedar thwart, gunwales, inwales and sternsheets, curly maple outer-stem, knees, and oarlock blocks. The keel and skeg are made of oak and the oarlocks are bronze. She has seven coats of Bristol Finish for a hard, high-gloss, low maintenance finish with maximum U.V. protection. The thwart is run length-wise to maximize seating flexibility. If you row for exercise and your back starts to bother you, just lie back and give it a break. Try that in a normal dinghy. If you’ve never rowed a boat with the thwart run length-wise, try it. I think you’ll be hooked. Full Details on this 10' Island Hermit Rowboat, 2009 |
