Further Comments
This boat was built by Robert Champlain at Golden Era Boats. I spoke with him last month and he remembers carving the name "Misbehavin" in the boat's interior stern. Misbehavin was the tender for the 23 foot Bluenose sloop of the same name built for Larry Van Alstyne a Syracuse artist who sailed it on New York's Finger Lakes. Larry was the official artist for the US Coast Guard. His work has hung in the Whitehouse and the Pentagon. Details of his fascinating career can be found at Larryvanalstyne.com/bio.html
Larry sold the boat to another individual in Cazenovia NY who kept it in storage for 11 years before I purchased it and moved it to Madison. The boat can be carried on a cartop rack and can easily be loaded by two individuals.
