Further Comments
Despatcher is probably the only boat on the west coast and maybe in all of Canada still floating that was designed spefically to chase down Rum Runners. Built for the Protective Services Department of the federal government (now Customs Canada ). She was in service till 1935 and sold to the public as "Spring". She has been Re-Christened DESPATCHER once again in a huge public ceramony attended by decendants of the original Captain, and Custons Canada in the spring of 2008 on her actual 80th Birthday. We bought her 5 years ago and have invested almost $60,000 and spent thousands of hours restoring her. She will only be sold to a loving home with people capable of maintaining an 80 year old national treasure. Please look at her blog for some more interesting history. http://mpvdespatcher.blogspot.com/2009/01/motorized-patrol-vessel-despatcher.html
