Further Comments
Well this is somebody's lucky day. I sold this boat for $20,000 on payments a couple of years ago, and the person just defaulted 2 days ago and I don't want to deal with it, so am giving it away for $6,500. Fixed up it is worth a minimum of 69k. Plus I build a custom aft cabin built by an amazing cabinet maker. Curved bed, built in large desk and custom couch and cabinets etc. This is an amazing liveaboard and an amazing classic vintage yacht that needs some tender loving care to bring up to mint condition.
The Galley is large with a big wrap around dining table. In the galley I made a custom cabinet and wrap around kitchen. It is still bare wood on some of the counter top, needs a few hundred bucks in granite or something else to make perfect. This boat also has a big main room which is empty at the moment and you can bring in whatever furniture you want. The upper helm deck is huge and has a new wrap around canvas with windows, this was 3k alone, plus there is a lower back deck also. The person who had the boat let the outside varnish go to hell, so It needs varnish on the rails etc. The hull itself is in great condition, I hauled it out 3 years ago, and spent 2 weeks finishing off some minor problems and painting 3 coats, plus the sides have been sanded re caulked and painted. A lot of work went into repairing parts of the boat and there are presently no rain leaks, no mold smell etc. This boat needs some care to make really nice, but the hull etc is sound. I also updated all the 110 electrical wiring and put in a new circuit breakers. As far as the engines they are classic 454 Hemis, but they aren't working, one turns over, but the other is frozen, not really running, but could be with some work. The perfect liveaboard, very roomy, lots of big windows and lots of light, you won't find a potential classic yacht or liveaboard like this; especially for such a deal. It is worth a lot fixed up because it is one of the most classic vintage yachts ever made.
Yes, this is a steal for only $6500, this won't last long, I need to have the boat out of the Marina in 2 weeks so grab the deal while it lasts. I will also consider taking payments with $3000 down, but the price is then 3k higher. Also remember to be a live aboard and get into most marinas you will have to get insurance and an out of water survey, of which I guarantee the wood hull will pass and is in good shape. You can live or anchor it out in Causality for free without insurance if you need be, but the boat needs to be out of its present marina by the end of the month. Serious inquiries only.
