1936 Original Double Cockpit Racing Skiff, much like the famous Jersey Racing Skiffs, only with an original 1937 Johnson P-80 Outboard set up for racing. Owned , raced and kept in incredible condition by 2 families in the Tri-Cities, Washington area on the Columbia River. Has never seen salt water. The Racing name and letters as well as paint finish is original and not a restoration. Boat has always been kept on the trailer in heated storage. No it isn't a Garwood, Ventnor, Chris Craft, Ditchburn, Dodge or one of the well known runabouts. It is far more rare, as it is the only one.
The low hours & original Johnson Seahorse 22.5 HP outboard motor, with short shaft is in excellent mechanical condition. This amazing little boat is said to have achieved mid to high 30 mph ranges. The steering wheel is active for the outboard, however side controls are needed. Boat has lived its life in the sunny & dry desert areas of Eastern WA. Includes the boat, motor and trailer.
Both boat and trailer are licensed and currently titled. Vintage trailer is in excellent condition and ready to tow anywhere. This wonderful and rare example of racing history is ready to enjoy and can be seen by interested parties in Gig Harbor, Washington.
If you are reading this and would like to own it, but short on cash. I am interested in a nice shop truck, vintage cars, street rods, hot rods, crew cab, COE and even the right project. Let me know what you have to exchange.
