Further Comments
1954 Greavette Streamliner 22 feet configured with the S cockpit. Synergy has been restored, traveled, and enjoyed by her present owners and is ready for new adventures with the next owners. She has cruised waters of the St. Johns River Florida, Lake George New York, Lake Winnipesaukee New Hampshire, the Rideau Canal in Canada giving us great pleasure. All of her ventures since restoration have been in freshwater. The S shape triple cockpit with stylish bolstering is very functional and lends to sociability with ease in moving from one area to another.
This boat, originally built for and displayed at the 1954 New York Boat Show, is a stunning example of Canadian craftsmanship. Designed in 1937 by C. Douglas Van Patten, N.A. Only a few of these complicated-to-build boats were built each year.
The restoration involved primarily a new no soak bottom using 5200 adhesive. All frames are new to allow proper fasting of the new bottom now planked with mahogany. The keel and engine bed stringers and canoe ribs are also new. The bulk of the original planking has been maintained refastened with silicon bronze. The engine is a totally rebuilt Chrysler Crown Special with the copper manifold and dress cover. Ease of starting and reliability are enhanced with 12 volt upgrade, multi-spark ignition and electric fuel pump. The original stuff is included if one desires to change back. Hardware has been rechromed. The leather is Ultraleather, easily maintained and cushy soft. Eight years after her restoration she looks and plays as new or better.
She travels on a custom-built aluminum powder coated trailer. A full boat cover is included.
