Further Comments

"ANTIGUA" is the last remaining, Hervey Garret Smith design yachts. She is in pristine condition and has been completely restored to better than new condition. Hervey Garrett Smith was much more than the founding director of the Long Island Maritime Museum. He was a world famous author and illustrator of maritime subjects. One of his popular works is the book "The Marlinspike Sailor". This is still a well known addition to every sailor's library. Mr Smith designed and built his own boat and named her "Morning Star". She was a landmark on Brown's creek in Sayville, NY for many years untill her demise. "Antigua" was 1 of 2 sisterships and now after the loss of her sister off the coast of the Bahamas. Now she needs a new home. This is a rare opportunity for the right person to continue the legacy of one of Long Island's original classic yachts. She is a sturdy; well balanced, exceptional craft that has been kept with all the comforts of modern yachts. The addition of Air conditioning, heat, Lectrasan waste system, every wire, every through hull fitting, every hose, thousands and thousands of new fasteners and her original finest of quality hardware makes her exceptional and irreplacable. The attention to detail is apparent over everey inch of her classic lines. If you have ever dreamed of sailing the New England coast or just want to be one of the finest sailing the Great South Bay or beyond, don't let this lifetime opportunity pass you. Antigua will appreciate for generations to come.
