Further Comments

Pax was built in Denmark in 1928 for fishing. We bought her 25years ago as a wreck and have spent since then restoring and maintaining her. Most of the major work has been done in the last8years,and we have sailed her extensively since 2008 from Gibraltar to the Channel Islands, around the Med and Atlantic to the Canaries and Madeira. We have full details of her history available onrequest. Oak on oak she was fibre glass sheathed in 1981. This coating we removed in 2006,revealing little rot. After replacing the necessary planks we epoxy and softwood splined the seams, faired the hull and carefully applied a thick fibreglass coat ensuring a strong physical and chemical bond between wood and glass. The same was done on deck ensuring awatertight boat.

We spent most of last year preparing Pax for an Atlantic crossing, replaced rigging ; renewed bowsprit netting;added ratlines on both masts; purchased safe equipment including 10 man liferaft ( solas B) and Epirb ; and much more. We left Portugal in January and sailed via Gibraltar ( to get married and do victualling!), Lanzarote and the Cape Verde islands to Barbados, arriving in early March. Currently Pax and us are at anchor in Grenada.

So she is now nearer you and ready to sail wherever.

More information is available in our advert with apollo duck ad number 202263 heading Baltic sailing/liveaboard boat. Also on Youtube under paulonpax there are some videos showing us sailing the boat.
