Further Comments

Beautiful Ed Monk sloop, "Blossom" is now only $6000. This is an amazing opportunity.

Built at the Anderson yards in Tacoma, this is a true northwest boat. I breaks my heart to sell this beauty - I've been living aboard and taking her for trips thru the San Juans after finding her in Olympia. I need to sell as the 5'4" headroom is too hard to live with for my partner who is 6'. She is very nimble in light San Juan air, but she comes down quick in a heavy blow, and is an absolute delight. Turns heads everywhere.

Yellow cedar on white oak frames. Yellow cedar decking, red cedar cabin walls, Spandex coating over deck and cabin roof - she is very dry. She is 28'6" LOA, 22'6" LWL, beam is 7'10", draft is 4'8", 12000 displacement.

Within the last ten years she has been refastened in s. bronze, received new Halsey Lidgard main and jib, keel bolts have been replaced, she received a new mast off a Rawson 30' (aluminum spar and boom) along with a compression post that reaches three feet into the mast itself, a new 2003 Yanmar diesel (freshwater cooled with a brand new stainless-steel exhaust pipe), and a rebuild of a new interior including a pressure kero stove a custom wood stove, along with many other smaller details including cabinetry. The structural improvements were done by the owner two owners ago, who is a shipwright in Olympia trained in Port Townsend, WA.

This past fall (Oct 2015) when hauled she had one plank replaced - all other planking is in great condition, and her rudder attachment was rebuilt, along with the usual bottom and topside paint. This spring all her varnish was taken to bare wood and re-done with Le Tonkinois #1 varnish. All photos are from the last  month.
