Further Comments

Own a piece of history with this professionally built American classic row/sail boat. Construction was done at the apprentice shop in Maine in 2001. She's a Traditional small craft from New Jersey and Delaware river basin and is light enough to be worked in the marshes but seaworthy enough for rough water. Near bristol condition! Boats cost was 12,000 in 2001.

Light boat at 16ft 125lb
The A-shop made two sets of leather collared oars, two push poles,
grub box, sprit-rig, gaff-rig, leather bailer, and a full canvas
cover....the works. The sails have topping lift lines which are very handy when necessary to reduce sail area in too strong of winds. The bronze oarlocks were cast from the Mystic
Seaport molds. The planks below the
waterline were bedded in Sikaflex to resist displacement from trailer
vibration, of which over the last 15 years there has been virtually
none. It lives on a like-new aluminum Trailex trailer
Painted with Kirby paint from Maine
16' foot pole for rail birds, the 10' pole for ducking (used for pushing boat in marshes when hunting)
The bronze edges on the stems and bottom protect it when bumping and scraping on things.
Construction is cedar planking on white oak with steam bent ribs and copper rivets.

I'm the second owner and boat was only used a dozen or so times all together from the original owner to me. I love the boat very much but the money for continuing my education is more important at the moment.

Boat rows amazingly well! The boat can be rowed sitting facing forward from the aft (back) position which is very enjoyable and scenic. Perfect for two people! The reduction of free board (height of sides of boat) and the use of combing around the boat (like a kayak) really avoids dreadful rowing in strong winds and keeps the boat very dry. I can deliver the boat to you, short or long distance.
