Additional Information
Barquito was designed by marine architect William Hand Jr. and built in 1917 by the Morton Johnson boatyard of Bay Head,New Jersey in 1917. After the Great War the boat then named Good Luck, was shipped by train to Portland, Oregon and sailed down the coast to San Francisco. She had a lovely life for many years until her gradual decline and change of ownership found her berthed in San Rafael and cared for by captain Willis Schroeder. He had owned her for 30 years before passing away. Four years later the vessel was purchased by her current owner and underwent a three year restoration.

The restoration included cold molding the hull with five layers of Western red Cedar and a final sixth layer of fiberglass. This will ensure Barquito's hull remains solid and seaworthy for several more decades. By using the cold molding process to restore the hull of Barquito the owner has also alleviated a lot of the maintenance associated with wood hulls. Which means much more time enjoying this classic yacht cruising the Beautiful waters of Northern California. Originally designed as a "Motorsailor" the current owner removed the main and mizzenmast. The masts are currently kept in storage and available with Barquito.

On the interior of this fine yacht the restoration process included:

Fully tiled shower

Custom built High Gloss Cabinetry throughout

New flooring

New Vacuflush Head system,

Refrigerator

Queen size Bed

Large sofa

L Shaped Dinette

Wood Burning Heater
