Further Comments

Heart's Desire was built in 1925 by the T.S. Soul yard of Freeport Maine.  She was originally commissioned by the Camden Cruising club to cruise and race around Penobscote Bay in Maine.  Being a 94 year old vessel she has had many fawning owners and generated quite a reputation on the New England coast.  In 1980 the boat was completely restored by Paul Rollin of York Maine.  She is very strong and well built boat with a split cabin house allowing for full deck beams at mast partners.  She also has full 1" plywood bulkhead at each mast making for tremendous strength.  The hull is copper riveted Iroko on white oak frames.  The deck is narrow laid Iroko that has been painted.  She is a lovely boat to behold and a time machine to sail.  I have owned the boat for nearly a decade and did and extensive two year refit with the intention of going cruising. My wife and I did take the boat up to Newfoundland and had a wonderful time.  The boat is ready to go race around the buoys or head off around the world.
